Father Etienne Blyth, who baptized both Charles and Célanire, was pastor of Ste-Martine Parish from 1841 to 1889. He was born in 1810 in Boucherville, near Montréal, son of an Irish physician who had immigrated to Canada a few years earlier. He died in 1894 and was interred in the parish church crypt, which today is named after him.
